I developed many projects for the ACES center. Almost every year I upgraded their web site and advertisement pamphlets and flyers. The ACES brochure had the longest run until I left MIE.

In 2001, I was commissioned to design a logo for the Women in Science and Engineering organization that wanted to increase its membership. Along with the design of the logo I was able to coin the phrase "Because Ssccess knows no gender," that has been used in all WiSE material since. I also designed their brochure, posters, helped organize their annual events and design additional materials like t-shirts and medals.

Since 1999 I became involved with the Inter-American and Border Studies Center and helped them promote many of their lecture series and international conferences by making posters, and invitations. Right before I left UTEP I was able to make a brochure for them, a piece of work that promoted UTEP for international students, specially from Mexico.

Pathways Material (2 slides)   aces small link    aces small link
The Geology coordinator for outreach programs at UTEP, asked me to improve on their promotion material for their Pathways Summer program, directed to young students and get them interested in science. I created a brochure adding to the material they already had. The material also evolved into a poster and a stand. In addition, I improved their old logo and became a nice signature for that program.

Research Expo Posters (2 slides)   aces small link    aces small link
The Research Undergraduate Program (REU) hosted an annual event to promote research among the undergraduates in all colleges. Originally I was asked to come up with ideas for a poster. When I presented my concept the material excited the coordinators. That year, from a common 8 to 12 student participation, the event flourished. For consecutive years I continued working on all the material related to the event, from posters to name tags, pens, bags, and booklets. I also came up with catchy phrases that would embrace the venue. Lines like "Discovering our World" and "Envisioning our Future" became the central idea for the visual material. The last year I worked with REU (2005) they had to limit the submissions to less than a 100 participants.

Left Coast Crime Material (3 slides)   aces small link    aces small link    aces small link
One of the last project while working in El Paso, Texas was the promotion material for the Leftcoast Crime literary circle. They wanted a look based on Posada's prints that could represent the "border aspect" of the event. In addition to the posters, the organizers printed t-shirts, water bottles and bags with the material that I made for them. In addition, the cover for their annual booklet was also printed as the secondary poster fro the event.

As part of my dissertation, I made a web site to display the research as well as the material created. In this site you can download the dissertation, PDF files to print the games and learn more about this initiative.

In my first year in Texas Tech as a grad student, I was asked to create a web site to promote digitally a show curated by Ann E. Gedricks. The site coordinates visually with the created guest's booklet.
